Something Good: Sunrise, Ice Cream, and Mom

One morning this week, I was out with the dogs for an early truck ride because it was already too hot for them to walk. I looked out at the sunrise and had to stop and take a picture. It was a beauty over the river! 🌟

There’s something about watching the sun come up that makes everything feel a little more peaceful, a little more hopeful—like maybe today is going to be a good day.

Last night, Mom and I went to a little ice cream social our friend Jack was hosting at the Korner Stop Ice Cream Shoppe. It was good to get Mom out and for both of us to just be around other people for a little while. We visited, laughed, and talked about town. It was a nice evening visiting with people from our community
nothing heavy
except the humidity
all of us were glistening with sweat! Gives a whole new meaning to “shiny, happy people.” đŸ€©

Sometimes when you’re in the middle of grief, being around other people is the last thing you feel like doing. But sometimes it turns out to be exactly what you needed
a mint soft serve sundae with hot fudge doesn’t hurt either. 😋

That’s my simple “Something Good” this week
watching a beautiful sunrise with my dogs, ice cream with Mom, and laughing with friends.

As we head into the three-day weekend and the unofficial end of summer, I hope you get a chance to slow down and enjoy some of those little things tooâŁïžđŸŠđŸ‘Żâ˜€ïžđŸ™ƒ

Have a great Labor Day weekend, friends! Soak up a little more summer while you can. ❀
