Anyway…Off We Go

Hello, friends.
Well… I’m back.

Some of you may remember that I used to blog years ago. Back then, I thought everything had to sound polished and meaningful all the time, like I needed to have life neatly figured out before I was qualified to write about it. These days, I’m a lot more interested in honesty than perfection, because real life is usually funnier, messier, harder, and more meaningful than the cleaned-up version anyway.

Life has changed a lot since then—and honestly, so have I.

I’ve lived through raising kids, becoming an empty nester, caregiving, grief, loss, laughter, dogs, chaos, and the strange realization that midlife is both deeply beautiful and mildly unhinged.

Somewhere along the way, I realized the best stories usually live in the ordinary moments: family chaos, post office conversations, quiet mornings, memories from the past, and all the little absurdities that somehow end up meaning the most.

So this space is getting a fresh start.

Anyway—Off We Go isn’t about pretending life is perfect. It’s about moving forward anyway. Sometimes gracefully. Sometimes while carrying emotional baggage, sipping iced tea, and tripping over dog toys.

I’ll be writing about:

  • funny real-life stories
  • family
  • grief and healing
  • dogs
  • caregiving
  • midlife reinvention
  • menopaws (I needed five emotional support dogs for this stage of life)
  • marriage at this stage of life
  • parenting at this stage of life (hopefully grandparenting too)
  • questioning faith
  • nostalgia
  • small-town life
  • and finding purpose again

Some posts will make you laugh. Some might hit a little close to home. Most will probably contain at least one unnecessary side story.

But mostly, I hope this space feels honest, comforting, funny, and human. I hope you find yourself in some of my stories and feel seen or understood.

Thanks for being here!

Anyway—Off We Go…the dogs need walked, there are stories to tell, and life just keeps life-ing.
